Top row: 5 cent nickel fare (1904-48), followed by 10 cent fare until 1953. First NYCTA token introduced 1953 at 15 cents. Fare raised to 20 1966, new larger token in 1970 (30 cents, 35 cents in 1972). 50 cent fare 1975 followed by new token and 60 cent fare 1980 75 cents 1981 and 90 cents 1984. $1 "Bullseye" token 1986, $1.15 1990, $1.25 in 1992. Bottom: Pentagon (5 Borough) token 1995 ($1.50). 2003 $2 fare, tokens phased out with MetroCard.
